Golfsmith has an opportunity for a TENNIS SPECIALIST in numerous retail locations in TX, CO, AZ, IL, GA, NY, CA, NJ, FL and AL.

Our Tennis Specialist provides the guest with an exceptional shopping experience through direct interaction. Facilitates the selling process, i.e., greeting, engagement, and closing the sale. Creates solutions to meet the Guests' needs. Leads the tennis department, by assisting in the training of all Caddies and executing the tennis business plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

· To best assist the guest with the proper selection of the “right” racquet and products for his/her game a thorough understanding of the elements (e.g. - swing style of the guest, strength and build of the guest, frequency of play by the guest, head size of the racquet, composition of the string, size of the guest’s hand, etc.) is required.
· Stays current and is knowledgeable in regards to competitors, technology changes, and trends.
· Designated primary racket stringer, must have the knowledge and technique to string and repair racquets.
· Responsible for working with the General Manager to ensure that ALL store caddies have received proper training and have a clear understanding of how to help a guest select the proper tennis racquet, string, grip, and tension for their game. Assists as directed by the GM’s in evaluating the “caddies” on a defined periodic basis to test the skill level, tennis knowledge and to assess if additional training is needed.
· Responsible for promoting Golfsmith within the tennis community in turn certified teaching pro’s are welcome and encouraged to take advantage of the solicitation opportunities that exist to market their personal teaching business through the exposure that they will receive to the many tennis “guests” that frequent our stores.
· Must be flexible and posses product knowledge; for both golf and tennis to best serve our guests needs.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current involvement in a formal tennis program as an instructor or player. A Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) or United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) professional is preferred.
