About Me:
My name is Doron Muravnik , I am 16 years old and live in Israel. I am currently playing in the Junior competition ITF tournament and I have already started the Professionals.

I started playing tennis when I was 9 years old. I love the sport - both the practices and the competitions. The tournaments I prefer are the internationals where you can meet a lot of players from all over the world.

I live in a small suburban town, Yavne, which is located in the peripheries. It is quite distant from Israel's tennis center. In order to overcome this obstacle, I travel two times a week to another suburban city which has a small tennis club. As for the rest of the days of the week I schedule meetings with other tennis players or practice by myself with the help of my younger brother.

My Goals
I am now taking part in the "Maccabiah" which is a Jewish worldwide event. It is similar to the Olympic games and takes place in Israel. 7000 Jewish athletes from all over the world compete in sport competitions. I succeeded in winning two gold medals: one in mixed doubles and the other in singles. I am honored that I was given this opportunity to represent my country in such an important event and I see this achievement as a great success. I hope this will be a leap towards the next worldwide tournament and I hope to participate in the next Olympic games, Beijing 2008.

My Highlights
A major achievement this year was the WTA 25,000 USD tournament where I have already started qualifying with two draws and passed one Main Draw competition which will give me the opportunity to enter professional tennis. In one of my previous Israeli competitions which was immediately after the ITF tournament I participated in in Germany, I found myself starting the tournament after a night flight and four hours of sleep due to a delay in landing. Nevertheless, I decided to participate and succeeded in reaching the finals. One day prior to the finals, I became sick with a high temperature of 39.9, which forced me to withdraw following doctor's instructions.
