Born in Javia but moved to Gandia at age 13, then two years later to Barcelona to attend Catalan Tennis Federation...Then spent nine months at Equelite- Juan Carlos Ferrero's Academy in Villena before moving back to Javia but practicing in Denia (now resides in Valencia)...Father, Jaime, is an accountant, and his mother, Pilar, is an elementary school teacher...Has one older brother, Javier (23), who is a tennis coach and former Spanish junior champion (under 13)...His other favorite sports are soccer and basketball and big fan of FC Barcelona... One of his favorite hobbies is reading books and he keeps every book...One of advantages of being a tennis player is "the opportunity to travel and discover new cultures"...Says his most inspirational player is countryman Juan Carlos Ferrero and most thrilling moment in tennis was Sergi Bruguera's victory over Jim Courier in 1993 Roland Garros final...Coached by countryman Javier Piles and calls him "his second father."
